During Jessica’s senior year of high school, she spent most of her time after school at her friend Thaycha’s house. There was one particular day where she called Thaycha after school asking if she could come over. Thaycha replied saying she wouldn’t be able to hang out that day because she was heading over to a bible study at her church. Considering Jessica attended church regularly, she asked if she could tag along. During this time Jules was the youth bible study teacher at Thaycha’s church. Jessica believed that she was just attending a regular bible study . . . . Jules believed that he was just teaching bible study that day. . . Little did they both know that day was just an introduction to what God had in store for the both of them.

After that Bible study, they became friends on Facebook and that is where it remained … until 3 years later. During the Christmas break of Jessica's senior of college, Thaycha’s Son Kaiden also known as Jessica’s Godson was turning 2 years old. Thaycha threw Kaiden a birthday party and invited some family and friends. During that birthday party, Jessica heard a few people coming up the stairs and noticed a familiar face and that familiar face was Jules. They both locked eyes and walked towards each other. They started to catch up until Jules began to ask Jessica about her spiritual walk. Jessica began to speak about the condition of her walk and was provoked to ask Jules to start a bible study. During this time Jules was no longer the youth bible study teacher for Thaycha's church. Jules told Jessica that he would pray about it and get back to her. A month later, Jules messaged Jessica on facebook asking if she was still interested in the bible study and if so the bible study would be taking place at his Godfather's house. Without hesitation, Jessica accepted the offer and later found out that the bible study was down the street from her house. Not only was this bible study the birth of Jules' ministry but the birthing of Jules and Jessica's relationship.

During the start of the Bible study in January of 2017, Jules' main focus was to teach and Jessica's main focus was to learn. During 6-7 months into the bible study, Jessica and Jules started to have feelings for each other. Both of them never told each other and never attempted to make it obvious to one another. Both of them felt as if was inappropriate and asked God to remove the feelings. No matter how much they attempted to brush the feelings away, the feelings became stronger. Later both of them found out that their feelings were not in vain but ordained by God himself. Eight months after the start of the Bible study, they received their confirmation and entered into a relationship.

What was suppose to be a “SURPRISE” birthday dinner for Jules was actually a SURPRISE planned marriage proposal to Jessica. Jules had Jessica believe that she was planning a surprise birthday party for him but in reality with the help of family and friends he was able to lead her to her proposal . Without hesitation, she said YES!
