Our Story

Jacob and Jules first met in 2018 while working at American Eagle, but it wasn’t until 2019- when Jacob rehired Jules after her first year of university- that their friendship began. At first, Jules was quite shy, and they spent many days exchanging quick glances and having some awkward interactions... Including Jacob forgetting Jules’ name when letting her into a fitting room, which became the beginning of a banter-filled relationship. Soon, they grew fond of each other and started finding excuses to spend more time together, initially running work errands - they spent way too much time buying stationery at Walmart. Before long, they became 'Downtown Buddies', sharing many nights out before the pandemic. They found out the world was shutting down after a wine night together, then made the most of the pandemic by FaceTiming each other constantly - they had many late-night chats, game nights, and dance parties. Once the world reopened, they continued to be best friends and coworkers. From there, their relationship blossomed. They have no idea when they actually started dating, sometime between January and April of 2021; they celebrated three anniversary dates for a while. Their early relationship was filled with wine nights, late-night drives, and trips to Peggy’s Cove, where they found a special spot to sit and watch the waves. In 2022, they moved into their first apartment in Fairview. It was tiny but perfect, and it’s where they cheered each other on through finishing school and starting their careers. Jacob proposed to Jules on February 1, 2025. He chose an easy date so they could finally have an anniversary that they would both remember. He proposed at Peggy’s Cove, at their favorite rock overlooking the ocean. It was freezing, the rocks were icy, and there were a couple of slips along the way—but it couldn’t have been more perfect. Most recently, Jules and Jacob bought their first home in Bedford, where they’re grateful to be putting down roots near family and friends. Their dog, Oliver, is especially grateful for the yard (and the chance to play fetch at midnight without disturbing the neighbors). This new chapter has brought many new experiences for them - they’re now busy with home improvements and trips to the hardware store, and are excited to be exploring their new community. However, many things haven’t changed for them - they still cherish their silly wine nights, trips to Peggy’s Cove, long drives, spending time with friends and family, and most importantly, the love they have for each other. They can’t wait to celebrate their wedding surrounded by the people they love most—and this time, they’re confident that 09.19 will be an anniversary they’ll both remember!
