The Cliff Walk along the eastern shore of Newport is a world famous public walk that combines the natural beauty of the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport's mansions. The walk begins at base of Easton’s beach (opposite the Atlantic Beach Club), at the cross streets of Memorial and Eustis, right next to The Chanler hotel
Easton’s (First Beach): Newport's most happening beach and recreation area, with an outdoor restaurant and patio bar at one end (Atlantic Beach Club) and the start of the Cliff Walk at the other end; also in the middle find a trip-worthy concession stand with the best lobster roll deal in town. Sachuest Beach (Second Beach): The largest beach in the area in size, nestled between St. Georges Prep School at one end and Sachuest Point National Park at the other.
Walk Upper Thames, Lower Thames, Americas Cup Ave, or any number of side streets for the hundreds shops, which range from art galleries to local designers to local crafts. Make sure to hit Bowen’s Warf in particular, home to a number of great local stores in addition to one of the best fresh lobster markets in Newport (http://www.bowenswharf.com/). Also - wear walking shoes and start early Newport gets crowded on a holiday weeks!

Located among the mansions, the museum is housed in Vernon Court (1898), an interpretation of an 18th century French chateau. Established in 1950, the Norman Bird Sanctuary constitutes the largest area of preserved open space in Newport County. A wildlife refuge, NBS encompasses over 300 acres and seven miles of trails that wind through diverse habitats and offer spectacular views of surrounding oceans and ponds.
Discover Jamestown's most visited landmark with its panoramic views of Narragansett Bay. Beavertail lighthouse is the third- oldest lighthouse in North America. Convenient trip, not far from Newport, Rhode Island.
Visitors Center is open from 12pm-5pm Weekends and Weekdays for tastings and self-guided tours on our tour deck. $7 plus tax to taste the beer and $9 plus tax to taste the rum and you go home with your crystal tasting glass. One guided tour per day at 3pm. Rum tours and tastings are $9 plus tax. Rum tastings allow you to taste 'what barrel-aging does' and understand what makes Thomas Tew Single Barrel Rum so special.
