Seven years ago Chelsey went out for a girls night with one of her best friends, Karalen. A couple bars later, they went to a location that wasn't one of Chelsey's faves but in an effort to have fun she managed. Low and behold, a total stranger was doing the same (Chelsey would later learn that Brandon was out with his guy friends and also didn't care for the bar they met at). Insert a scene from the movies where basically the best friend spots a cute boy, does a brief screening of him - his interests, his age - and then slyly pulls the friend into the conversation for the introduction. Karalen (the best wing woman ever) says: "Chelsey, come meet Brandon." And honestly, that was that. Chelsey and Brandon spent the whole night talking and dancing. It even came to a point where his friends left him and he didn't even care (what a move). They exchanged numbers at the evenings end, and went on their first date (Elsas on the Park and a chick-flick) the very next night. Chelsey and Brandon were together ever since.

Every Labor Day Weekend since they started dating, Brandon and Chelsey have enjoyed the long weekend up in Door County. The weekend played out just as most of their Door County weekends play out, but it ended in a way that Chelsey did not suspect! So flash forward to September 1st. The day was planned out as such: brunch at Scaturros, wine tasting at Stone's Throw, a photoshoot with Elena and Gretchen (that's normal for them), and dinner! However, the only thing that panned out was brunch. At which point Elena pretended she didn't feel well. Therefore, Chelsey and Brandon were set to go to the winery alone. On the way to the winery, Brandon made a detour. This confused Chelsey but she didn't think too much of it because honestly he was a little hung over and was acting weird all day (shocker). This detour was a pit stop in Fish Creek "to take a little stroll and look at the water." This is something Chelsey and Brandon do all the time when in Door County, so although kinda weird, it wasn't weird enough for Chelsey to question. A little stroll down to the water, a quick photo of the view for Instagram, and a walk through the woods later and then "it" happened. As they were making their way back to the car, Brandon pulled on Chelsey's shoulder to have her pause. You all know Brandon, so the short synopsis is that the exchange that followed was not a Disney Movie or anything from a romantic novel. But it was perfect because it was perfectly Brandon and perfectly "them." After the proposal, they enjoyed wine and a pizza at Stone's Throw. Later they arrived back for what Chelsey now thought was to be cocktails and dinner at the Yacht Club - celebrating their engagement with Brandon's family. As they pulled up to the restaurant, Chelsey looked over and immediately started bawling. What she saw was all of her favorite people - her family, her friends, and Brandon's family all there for a surprise engagement party! The day and the night were unforgettable!
