Your favorite teachers are getting married!

Our story began at Searles Elementary, where Mr. Rodriguez taught 3rd grade and Melissa taught 4th. What started as a simple dual language meeting quickly became something much more memorable, especially when Mr. Rodriguez found himself completely charmed by Melissa’s laugh (and her love for Rocky!). From that moment on, their days were filled with easy conversations about Rocky, Star Wars, and playful lunch bets over Warriors vs. Lakers games and 49ers vs. Cowboys. Eventually, Mr. Rodriguez gathered the courage to make his move, walking into Melissa’s classroom with plants in hand and asking her out to lunch. She happily said yes… though it took him a little time (and a few nerves!) to actually make the plans. In the meantime, life had its way of bringing them closer. Melissa leaned on Mr. Rodriguez for support and advice during a challenging time with a student they had both taught. Through those heartfelt conversations, their connection deepened, and Melissa began to open up her grinch heart. Not long after, they went to a Warriors/Lakers game and it was the perfect first outing. They laughed, cheered, and had an unforgettable time together. Of course the Lakers won, hint Melissa being happy! A few days after, they went to a movie and stayed up for hours afterward, talking about everything and nothing all at once. And just like that, something beautiful began.
