Colombia in general is a great place. It is a country with great people, great food, a great atmosphere, and amazing cities. Bogota has all these qualities and more. It is a metropolis full of life. It has a New York vibe to it. Of course, it has good and bad places just like any major city. So, you know, keep an eye on your things. The people are very nice and the food is amazing..........although.....we cannot say the same for the traffic........It's pretty bad. So be prepared for hour-long traffic.
Bogota has a subtropical highland climate because it is located on a high plateau in the Northern Andes Mountains. This means that it is cool during the day with an average temperature of 6° to 19°C (45° to 68°F) on sunny days. The rainy season is from May to November. so, in December it should be fine.
Bogota has a lot of public transportation. We suggest taking an Uber everywhere as it is the safest way to travel and the cheapest. Plus, in an Uber, you do not have to speak the language in order to go where you want to go. (Believe us it is cheap)
Although we love kids, this celebration will be only for adults.
The dollar has a higher value than the Colombian Pesos. So, we think that you will find Colombia quite cheap.
