Sienna, a beach girl from Mililani, Hawaii, and Juan, a farmer boy from Denver, Colorado, somehow both decided that serving in the military was the best way to live out their twenties. In July 2021, Sienna arrived at VFA-103, where Juan had been working for a year already. Juan, having been in the Navy for a year, knew it was in his best interest to stay away from military women (for good reason). For seven months, Juan and Sienna co-existed, doing what they had to do to prepare for their upcoming deployment. Juan found Sienna attractive, cute, and beautiful as soon as she started working with him, but because he knew better, he stayed away. Sienna, on the other hand, was focused solely on getting into a rhythm with her new life. After seven months of admiring from afar and learning how to adjust to her new routine, Sienna decided to put herself out there. She created a Tinder account and, just by chance, saw a familiar face. Juan had also decided he was ready to find a meaningful relationship and had made a Tinder account. After a few failed dates and strange interactions with strange people, Juan was almost ready to delete the app. But then, by fate, Sienna—the attractive, cute, beautiful woman from work—appeared on his phone. Sienna recognized Juan from work, and when she was about to swipe left, something stopped her, and she swiped right instead. Once they matched, Juan thought long and hard about the line he would use to make this woman his. Sienna opened her phone to see that she had matched with the guy from work. She immediately opened the messages to see… “So, why did you join the Navy?” And the rest is history.
