If they were to tell you all the details of their story... they'd need an entire book! It's truly been a beautiful journey—one where the Lord has surprised them at every turn. What if they hadn’t gone to that volleyball life group? Thank God they did. Juli and Juan first met during the summer of 2021 at a volleyball life group. Juli was co-leading the group with Lorenzo when their friend Sebas invited Juan to join. Their first encounter was brief—they only introduced themselves—but it was enough to keep Juan coming back for the rest of the summer. Over time, he became part of the friend group. For the next year and a half, Juli and Juan remained distant friends. Then came January 2023. They began spending more time together in closer circles (shoutout to Daniel). One day during the 21 Days of Prayer, a group of friends went out for breakfast. Juli couldn’t eat her pancakes because of the fast, so Juan happily ate them for her—after she promised she’d have some once the 21 days were over. Sure enough, Juli went to iHop right after the 21 days and had to send pancake proof to Juan! That day marked the beginning of their close friendship. They started texting and never stopped... til this day! As their friendship began growing more, they started sharing time together in their common interests like the gym, volleyball, church and studying. They would take time to go to a study group together and finish off with a gym session after. Juan took on the role of personal trainer for Juli and she was loving it! Within a month of this proximity, they finally confessed their feelings for each other and their intentions. They were clear that they would date to marry or not date at all! However, it didn't stop there... they committed to getting to know each other and their families intentionally. July 2023 Juan decided to talk to Juli's parents to make it official and start dating! This was the moment that Cesar & Claudia had the official interview with Juan, prayed for them, and covered them as they began their relationship with purpose. They've been together ever since... doing their favorite things together, going on awesome trips with friends and family, getting to know each other more and more! They continued strong with their gym sessions and volleyball hangouts. Juan and Juli's heart from the start has been to keep God in the center of their friendship & relationship.. and it's been SO worth it!! They are expectant for all the blessings God has in store for them in the future. <3
