FAQs

Question

Are there rooms blocked for traveling from out of town?

Answer

No. We have found that you can find better deals on budget sites and using your own perks. We have located and listed some hotels under the travel & lodging page for suggestions. However, we trust you to do whatever fits best for you and your family. Please feel free to contact us personally if you have any trouble planning lodging as an out of town guest.

Question

Will there be shuttles or transportation provided?

Answer

There will not. We trust you all to find safe and sober transportation to and from our reception.

Question

Are we allowed to bring uninvited guests or plus ones?

Answer

No. I am so sorry. We have done everything in our power to get the guest list to a number that fits within the parameters of our venue’s capacity. This, unfortunately, did not include uninvited guests. If you feel we have left someone out by mistake, please just reach out to let us know.

Question

What type of wedding attire should I wear?

Answer

The wedding is semi-formal “cocktail attire”. Wear your favorite suits and party dresses that make you feel fabulous.

Question

Will masks be required?

Answer

They will not. Due to guests eating and drinking throughout the evening, we cannot require mask wearing by guests.

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We unfortunately were not able to keep children on the guest list due to space restrictions when we moved the wedding indoors in response to weather contingency concerns. We love your kids but you will get to have this evening sans kiddos. *If you are traveling from out of state or nursing and are needing to bring your little ones in order to attend, please contact us so we can try our best to accommodate those unique situations.

Question

What type of food will you be serving?

Answer

We are serving a build your own taco bar. We are planning options for vegetarians and for gluten free folx. We are hoping this will be a crowd pleaser with something for everyone. We want you to be all fueled up for a night of dancing.

Question

Is there a cash bar?

Answer

No. Our bar is an OPEN BAR. There will be a keg, wine, and spirits with a soda machine hosted by the bride and groom with help from madrina Tia Vero. The bartender will be paid and tipped by the bride and groom but feel free to bring cash to supplement their gratuity if you feel moved.

Question

What is a convalidation?

Answer

It is a ceremony in the Catholic Church to celebrate the sacrament of holy matrimony with a couple who has already been married legally. In simplified terms, it is a church wedding recognized within the Catholic Church as one of the seven sacraments.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 2pm so we recommend getting there at least 15 minutes before to find a seat. Immediate family should arrive around 1:30pm. The reception dinner will be out from 4pm until 6pm. After 6pm, tables will begin to come up and the dancing will begin. Seating will be assigned so come grab a plate and enjoy yourselves! The open bar will begin service at 4pm as well.

Question

Is there anything we should know about parking?

Answer

The ceremony parking will be on the upper level parking lot of the church. That is where the wedding will take place. The reception venue only has a small lot so we ask that you find street parking or park at the neighboring church lot and walk over saving the lot spots for grandparents. Thank you for your consideration. We are so excited to have you join us!

Question

What if I have mobility concerns, how do I access your spaces?

Answer

Our ceremony is accessible on one level, as are the restrooms. Our reception site has a separate door with an elevator. Please go in the door off the parking lot on the left/south west side of the building. There are handicap accessible restrooms located there on the first floor and an elevator to take you up to the reception level.

Question

I’ve never been to a Catholic mass before, do I take communion?

Answer

Short answer: no, you do not. The Catholic Church experiences the consecration of bread (the Host) as a Holy Act. It is one of our seven sacraments. Catholics must go through classes and have a ceremony in order to receive their First Communion. Once the bread is consecrated, Catholics see the host as the Holy Eucharist; the Body of Christ. They must only receive the Eucharist if they have prepared to receive God by participating in the sacrament of reconciliation (if they have not been attending mass regularly or committed any mortal sins) and fasting an hour before mass. *If you wish to receive a blessing from the priest but are unable to receive communion, you simply walk up in line and cross your arms in front of your chest (think Wakanda Forever) and return to your pew.
