Honestly, we owe it all to Maggiano's restaurant and Anderson Sanchez! (God rest his soul) Him and Carissa were pretty close and he knew the kind of guys she liked. So one day when a new guy (Juan) got hired to work the line in the kitchen, he immediately grabbed Carissa to point him out. His exact words to her was "He is so your type!" (and yes she agreed). They started to talk a little at work but it was hard because servers couldn't really talk to the line cooks because they'd "distract them". To make things easier Juan asked Carissa for her number. They texted a lot and hung out here and there. And before they knew it, they were Facebook official! Lol!

Apparently Juan had been planning this for quite some time with Carissa’s best friend Danielle Earlington. Carissa was going to be the maid of honor in Danielle’s wedding and Juan was invited as well. That’s when the Bride to Be decided she should make it a day for all of them to remember. (Yes it was Danielle’s idea to have it happen on her wedding day). Everyone was having a great time eating, drinking, and dancing the night away. And then it came time for the garter and bouquet toss. And just like at her sister’s wedding Carissa was telling Juan better catch it! Lol. So here we go, Leo (Danielle’s groom) throws the garter, but oddly enough nobody caught it. As a matter fact nobody even tried. The garter fell to the floor and Juan was the first to run and grab it. Then he proceeds to run to Carissa. She was just thinking he was running to show her that he actually got it, but little did she know it was going to be the biggest moment of her life. He did some fancy slide on the floor, ended up on one knee, and opened up a box with the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen inside! She laughed at first then realized this was real and cried like a baby into his arms and of course, SHE SAID YES!

Although they weren’t official at the time, Juan and Carissa had always considered their anniversary to be the day they came into each other’s lives, June 29th. And on that same date, 4 years later, is when they are choosing to make it last forever. ♥️
