Who knew that one soccer game would change our lives forever and that one day at AJ's bar? The story begins with Alyssa only wanting to be Juan's friend. Juan was a quiet boy who would appear at events once in a while. Alyssa always wanted to talk to him to get to know him since he would never talk or join conversations. One day at the bar, Alyssa yelled across the table to Juan to have him take a picture with her. He thought she was weird for screaming across the table very loudly. Since that picture, the conversations started. We talked almost every day. Christmas time came around, and Secret Santa participants were being chosen, and coincidently, Juan was paired with Alyssa. It was faith. Looking back at that day, Alyssa was so sick, and Juan helped her get through it by giving her medical advice. He's been taking care of her since day 1. Yet, that wasn't enough for them to be together. Alyssa needed to leave the country for a month for them to realize they were meant to be. Even with a 14-hour time difference, they still made it a point to talk daily. Once she was back, they attended school together, and Alyssa made it her mission to make sure Juan noticed her. She would "stalk" him around campus to purposely run into each other. The study session in the library got long, and the conversation grew stronger. Here comes the famous Jalapeno Festival in Laredo, that's where everyone knew there was no secret we were not into each other. A month after that, we made it official: we were together! We then grew up together, finished school, graduated, moved cities, lived together, experienced loss, and all of the above. It's been a wonderful 5 years, and now we get to say we are marrying our best friend. We cant wait until forever!
