Way back when in July of 2018, Juan and I both swiped right on each other’s Tinder profiles. I was impatient to meet him, I even asked him if I could buy us a beer one night and he turned me down. I was appalled. Like, how dare he? But, he made it up to me by picking me up and taking us to Galveston for our first date. He got us a mini charcuterie board and some drinks and we sat by the water and talked about life. I knew halfway through the night that I was in trouble. (Not that kind of trouble… the love kind of trouble!) Two weeks later, August 5th, I’m sitting on the floor of his apartment looking up at him thinking two things: one, this is crazy; two, I don’t care… “I love you…” “…I love you, too!”. WHAT? Wow, what an amazing feeling. It wasn’t long after that Juan asked me to move in with him and I, of course, said yes. Within three years, we had a little mini “us” and that was the start of our next chapter together.
