When Tiffany was working at Lowes, Kennon told me that he thought that me and his brother would be a good match. Being that I valued my friendship with Kennon I told him thanks but no thanks as I didn’t want to create tension if we didn’t work out. Kennon was persistent in suggesting that the two of us talk and meet, I finally told him to give him my number in July of 2017. As you all know I am the worst at checking and returning calls, so when Jerome called for the first few times I didn’t answer because I didn’t recognize the number. I never realized that he left me a voice message identifying himself, until Kennon pointed out that I would not call his brother back. I then told Kennon to have him call me again. After a month or so Jerome and I had a brief conversation as I was out of town celebrating my birthday. Upon my return Jerome and I immediately started talking daily for hours. A month later we decided to go on an official date at Wildflower in the CWE. Jerome got some brownie points as Wildflower has a large red wine selection. From that moment on the rest was history!
Two days after Christmas 2020 (the year of COVID) I was finally off work and I didn’t know that this moment was going to be the moment that I proposed. Since this was this first day I was off since Christmas, we decided to exchange gifts that morning. Tiffany proceeded to give me her gift first. I then told her that I needed to get her gift out of the other room. I went to get the engagement ring out of the safe, but my emotions were so high that I couldn't remember the code. After fumbling for so long I finally got the code right. When I came back into the kitchen Tiffany was at the refrigerator. I told her that I love her and that I was grateful that she was apart of my life. I then got down on both knees (yall know im to old to just get on one) and asked her to marry me. Since you are reading this she said YES!!
