We had spent a long afternoon at the Graubics farm filled with target practice, s'mores, and good company. Justin suggested we head out to the Botanical Gardens In Richmond, Virginia. At this time of year the gardens are dressed in an array of colorful lights that marry botanical wonders and Christmas joy. I had been looking forward to seeing this spectacular display all year so I was more than eager to accompany Justin. Adorned with my gloves, hat, and coat we endured the winter chill to behold the beauty of the holiday lights. We walked past a garden with archways and gazebos dressed in holiday lights from base to peak. Their warm glow had attracted a stray cat which I tried to befriend....but to no avail. The garden was dotted with bundled bystanders all taking in the glowing lights. Justin hurried us past the crowded garden. It was not until later in the night I learned that Justin was simply looking for the perfect (non-crowded) area to pop the question. After walking around and seeing all the other attractions we circled back to the glowing gardens. Their luminous pink and purple glow filled the ground and climbed the well manicured arbors. Positioning us under an archway Justin told me he saw the cat again...betrayed by my love for animals I turned around to search for this allusive cat. After a minute of looking I turned back and to my greatest surprise I saw Justin on one knee immersed in a sea of lights. He opened the small black box revealing the most beautiful ring which was almost glowing as it reflected lights from every angle. After reaffirming his love for me he popped THE question! I was surprised and frankly taken aback...I stood with my mouth agape-all words escaping me. After managing to say "yes" he put the ring on my finger and thus the next chapter in our life began.
