Christian's first baby. The OG to the Sleepyhead Coffee brand. Started in 2019 by him and his business partner as a total accident. This location is nestled in the bottom floor of Chattanooga's first "high rise" (12 floors lololol), built in 1910. They have two units, one to the left (the shop), and to the right (the seating area). Both sides filled with plants, large windows, bright light, and good vibes... OHHH and the coffee is pretty good too ;) 2 minute walk from the Westin hotel for those lodging nearby!
Sleepyhead's Sister store. This location opened up in the fall of 2023, and has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. Nearly 3x as big as the Broad store, this is where all the baked goods, house made syrups, and their beloved recipes are created. AND you have to see the custom pink espresso machine!
Our first date - This is the big big sister to Main Street Meats and Little Coyote and just truly phenomenal. Upscale American and French cuisine - known for their house made pasta, raw oysters and amazing wine and cocktail program. WE LOVE EASY! 30 second walk from The Westin if you're lodging nearby.
Michelin recommended American restaurant (in house butchery, nooga's most popular burger, and one of our favorites). Their pork dish is always to die for, the potato salad - YUM, and their frozen drinks are some of the best we've had + 90+% of their food comes from local and regional farms guaranteeing the freshest ingredients.
Chattanooga's ONLY Bib Gourmand award recipient and Main Street Meats Little Sister, Little Coyote is serving Latin + Texas BBQ Inspired dishes (another one of our favs). They have an imported corn tortilla maker from Mexico, and everything on the menu is encouraged to be eaten family style, and on they housemade corn tortillas. SO GOOD!
Upscale American and southern cuisine. Just try everything on the menu, theres literally no way you can be disappointed.
Known for their upscale levantine cuisine, it's truly a one of a kind restaurant in Chattanooga. this middle eastern cuisine is truly mouthwatering and Raven, the owner is so passionate about what they are doing. This is truly a must try, and the Knafeh (for dessert) is SO GOOD.
Our favorite Indian Restaurant in the city! Sujata put this restaurant together after years of doing popups around town. She's bringing flavors from all around India so you get to taste the "not so normal" Indian food. It's delicious, the flavors dance in your mouth, and the cocktail and wine pairings are top notch as well!
Il Primo is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in town. Nestled right in the heart of North Chattanooga, they are serving up tasty Italian dishes (Wednesday night is Carbonara night and its wonderful), as well as great cocktails and wine!
Oysters, seafood, and American cuisine, Boathouse sits on the river which is one of the few restaurants that utilizes the waterfront for its backdrop. Jason, the owner has put so much work into this restaurant, the menus is stunning and the oysters, wonderful!
Jorge and his mother run this restaurant as a mother/son duo. She started the restaurant over two decades ago in a tiny food truck and it has evolved into what it is today with her son Jorge's help. Gorgeous space, wonderful food, and the best (real) margarita in town (in our opinion).
Ramen! So good - Christian recommends the spicy crab ramen, it's literally such a good dish. Their Japanese fried chicken, crispy Brussels, and shishitos are also great!
Richardson family approved - hopefully that says it all. Their mustard sauce will knock your socks off (Daddy richardson took some home to KC himself)
Our favorite Pizza in town! Unfortunately. Chattanooga has ALOT of pizza but not a lot of great pizza, however Southside Pizza is continuously knocking it out of the park!
Great sandwiches for lunch!
3 locations. REAL good ice cream.
21+ Another Michelin recommendation - The Rosecomb is an upscale neighborhood bar, nestled in North Chattanooga in an old house. Their interior is just as gorgeous as their garden out back which is now a Certified Wildlife Habitat from the National Wildlife Federation. Sit at on of the tables, under the umbrellas, surrounded by gorgeous flowers, and drink a beautifully crafted cocktail while enjoying some of their house made pimento cheese or the catfish dish - perfection. The owners, Ryan and Chloe have truly put their whole hearts into this local favorite.
Local brewery in Chattanooga. Family friendly, HUGE outdoor space. Most importantly good food and good beer (the anomaly smash burger is WONDERFUL).
Burgers, wings, sandwiches, beer - our favorite sports bar in Chatt.
Cocktails and desserts. They have a "tini" flight (funnn) and their crepes are "big yum"... also 30 second walk from the Westin Hotel for those lodging nearby.
21+ This was where Christian and JT first met before walking over to Easy Bistro for dinner. Good drinks and good company and always "no hard feelings".
One of Downtowns newest dive bars, Mean Jeans is right down the street from Sleepyheads Main+Dodds shop. Good drinks, pool tables, outdoor seating, pretty damn good bar food, and good vibes, Means Jeans has also quickly become a neighborhood favorite.
The third installment in the No Hard Feelings Family, Granny's is heir first sports bar. Pool, darts, arcade games, drinks, food, spaces to mingle and sit, places to stand, and places to watch the game... they've got you covered!
No Hard Feelings little sister. A dive bar, located off MLK. Its small, its weird, it's cool.
Chattanooga's oldest operating bar. It's funky, it's old, and it has cheap drinks and good food. Get a pickle back shot ORRRR christians recommendation is an Ice Pick (sweet tea + vodka). (Oh and speaking of sweet tea... If you order tea in Chattanooga, it's going to come with about a cup of sugar in it, so for you midwestern folk make sure to order and specify your tea be unsweetened).
Get a taste of some of Chattanooga's favorite restaraunts on a food tour. Owned by Briana Garza (one of JT and Christian's closest friends (and officiant for the BIG day), Briana has put her HEART into this business. As a life long foodie, she promises you'll leave full.
If you need to drink, get your bottles, can, and handles here. Our favorite and a truly gorgeous liquor store.
Our FAVORITE florist. Liza and her team are the best in the business and such huge supporters of Sleepyhead. 1 minute walk from the Westin hotel for those lodging nearby.
Our favorite nursery. Atop Signal Mountain, sits this GEM. Most of our personal houseplants and Sleepyhead's houseplants have come from here. Amazing place, amazing people, and amazing plants.
The CUTEST home goods store. Owned by Alexis and Cameron (Sleepyhead regulars), you can't go and NOT buy something. Such beautiful people, such a beautiful store, and such beautiful products.
Where JT and Christian go for facials and eyebrow waxing. So if you need that, to be pampered, brows/lashes, facial, spray tannings before the big day - go support Michelle at the Lashery (she'll talk your head off and she's a gem of a human).
If you're addicted to ink (like Christian), just go ahead and pre book a tattoo here. These are some really talented folks who also host one of the largest tattoo conventions in the southeast.
Truly a wonderful aquarium. Ranks #1 in customer satisfaction year after year, and the butterfly exhibit on the rooftop is spectacular.
Beautiful Art Museum downtown on the bluff with rotating exhibits.
Known for its rock formations and gardens, which feature a 4,100 foot walking trail, bridges, and "fat mans squeeze" a very narrow pathway between two large rocks. Lovers leap, where you can see seven states, and fairyland caverns which features (creepy) fairy tale dioramas. This is also where Mini Golf/ Putt Putt was created!
The tallest and deepest underground waterfall in the United States. Take a guided tour that starts going down an elevator 260 feet through solid limestone. The elevator ride takes about 30 seconds and travels at 600 feet per minute offering a view of the rock face as you descend into the cavern. Halfway through your tour, you will arrive at the waterfall which will be illuminated by lights, and allow time for photos before heading back through the caverns, and back up the elevator.
A European inspired and family owned shopping district downtown which features 3 bed and breakfasts, an Italian restaurant, upscale American restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, chocolate shop, museum, sculpture gardens, and more. It's a truly gorgeous area you have to see, as the owners have put so much care into this area of town.
a 13 mile paved walking/running/biking trail that runs along the Tennessee river connecting downtown to the Chickamauga Dam. This is one of our favorite places to go on long walks!
Upscale shopping center Downtown. (LuLu Lemon, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Madewell, and more)
