On October 24, 2019, I matched with cute guy with a wide smile and a high top fade on Hinge. His name was Jarred. We talked briefly on the app then he gave me his Instagram. To my surprise, we only had about 2 or 3 mutual friends, especially being from the same city. We exchanged numbers and would talk everyday about just about everything from tv shows to reproductive health LOL! We set a first date for mid-September. We met at a hookah lounge in Center City. I had never met any man like Jarred before, he was so open to sharing and actually even over shared a bit for a first date. We polished off a bottle of pinot grigio, shared some apps and went to stop number 2, a local bar on South Street. He went to get us drinks from the bar, and when he came back, he spilled my drink all over my pants. Instead of being mortified, my delusion kicked in and I immediately thought "this must be the beginning of my Hallmark Rom-Com movie". He was mortified though! But he bought me another drink and we moved to a dryer table. It was so easy for us to talk, he told me everything! We shared a very sweet kiss. By this point, we were drunk and hungry, so we got jumbo slices from Lorenzo's and went back to his place. He asked if he could play me a song, he played Robert Glasper & Meshell N'degeocellos's "Consequence Of Jealously". I almost jumped out of my skin because I never told him I loved Robert Glasper and here he is READING MY MIND! Needless to say, I may have fallen in love in that moment.
Our reception will be an indoor/outdoor spring celebration, and the vibe is garden party cocktail attire—festive, polished, and perfect for mingling among flowers! Think: elegant dresses, jumpsuits, and dressy separates for women, and suits or sport coats with dress pants for men. Soft colors, floral prints, and springtime flair are highly encouraged, but not mandatory! Please do not wear all-white outfits. We’re saving that special look for the bride. A white accent or print is totally fine—just no head-to-toe white ensembles. Come dressed to celebrate in style—garden party chic!
