She was about 5 minutes late for our first date. Which is fine, except I had 5 minutes to myself in a booth in the Bookhouse Pub on a Thursday night. I couldn't order a drink or anything, that would be rude. So I crossed my fingers that she would show up because I just told the waiter I was waiting for someone. For five minutes I kept thinking, "What if she doesn't show up?". Anyways, fast forward about 30 seconds and there she was! She looked even better than the pictures on her Tinder profile. We had a great time and talked about all the shows we had been to recently and found out we had been at the same shows at the time same time and just didn't know. We had probably walked past each other once or twice and never knew. We talked about our love of animals and her cat Donut. I couldn't wait to meet her! Sarah even dropped me off at my house that night and I knew there would at least be a second date. We had made plans for the following weekend but all the sudden on a Tuesday Sarah asked if I wanted to go see Alt-J with her at the Coca-Cola Roxy. Of course I said yes (I'm not really a big fan of Alt-J but why not?) and that's where we saw our first show of many. I could tell Sarah and I were going to be together for a long time. I always felt like we had known each other for a long time even though we just met. One time, randomly, she started reciting The Ramone's Blitzkreig Bop and after saying "hey ho, let's go" I thought to myself, what if she says "trick or treat" just like Marzipan does in one of the Homestar Runner Halloween specials. Lo and behold, she did. And if you don't get the reference, that's fine, the point is, what are the odds she knew that and where had she been all my life? Anyways, that's how we met. We like to say we met on Tinder before it became lame. Mostly because we weren't on it anymore ;) And after many dates and shows later, here we are. If you had told me, 5 years ago today, that I would be getting married, I never would have believed you.
