You’re my person!

Justin and I went to highschool together. However, we led different lives with different friend groups. I messaged Justin happy birthday on Valentines day 2022 and we started talking. I was still living in Florida at the time and I happened to come to Indy to visit in March. Later he invited me to hang out with some former classmates and we continued to hang out while I was home. Once back in Florida we continued to text and FaceTime. We had movie dates and shared screens watching different Disney movies. A few weeks later he asked if I wanted to go to LA with him. We went and that's where he officially asked if I would be his girlfriend

I knew Justin had the ring for awhile and I kept harassing him on when he would actually pop the question. For Valentines day I found a Saturn stuffed animal that said "Put a ring on it" and joked about how he should just ask already. He really wanted to wait until this summer where he could do it when it was really nice outside, however on March 6th he said he just couldn't wait anymore and asked while we were exploring Eagle Creek Park on a particularly nice day. I was a little suspicious when I saw what outfit he was planning on wearing and tried to casually look for a ring box shaped bulge in his pockets. I didn't see anything popping out so I dismissed the idea. After awhile of exploring the park I started to get cold so I asked Justin if I could have his vest. He was oddly defensive and said no even though he was just complaining he was hot. I continued to bug him about it and as we were walking I heard a button pop so I became even more suspicious. I kept looking over my shoulder to try and see what he was doing but I was also trying to keep a surprise. Once we got back to the water that’s when he got down on one knee and popped the question. Unfortunately the ring was way too big so we took it right in to be resized. The jeweler said we had to send it in and it would be back in two weeks… TWO!!! I hadn’t even told/shown my family in person yet. So I pretended like it hadn’t happened till we got it back. It was super hard to hold the surprise but I wanted to be able to show and tell them in person with the ring. So it was definitely worth the wait.
