Our story started long before we knew it... We both came from big families who happened to be in each others lives long before we were even an idea. Jake's Grand Father and Great Uncle had been very close friends with Sophie's Grandfather for years, leading to many family parties and other overlaps that both Sophie and Jake had attended before formally knowing each other. As time passed and high school years began, they eventually became acquainted by friend groups. Although, never formally talking yet. Sophie and Jake both recall a night they both happened to be running late (shocker) to the same ACT prep course. Both of them had coincidentally been rushing to the door to make it in time. Though, not knowing each other, so they did not say Hello. Once putting this moment together years later, they both admitted wanting to say hi. Another year passes, which leads to the first night they officially met. It was Sophie's Senior Year homecoming afterparty that Jake just so happened to be crashing. Sophie approached Jake and that's where their story began. Their first date could have been out of a movie. Jake had planned to take Sophie ice skating, but the rink was closed for a private event. So, Jake tried to take them to a movie, but once they got there all the movie times were sold out. After another failed attempt, Jake said... I know a spot, "JR's Local Saloon" .... Being 18 at the time, a nice man bought them drinks and they played pool. Jake knew that if Sophie called him back after this night it was win, considering the turn of events that lead to this first date spot. Although from Sophie's point of view, it could not have been more perfect. This night started the beginning of their life together -- long distance for four years of college to moving back to St. Louis and living together on the Hill. After living together for a year, Jake had proposed to Sophie on October 5th, 2024 at the Piazza Imo on the Hill. Here there was a car waiting that took them to Bartolino's Osteria where all their Family was waiting for them to celebrate. It truly was a night to remember. If you are still reading...
