Sarah has a title to uphold of best little sister to JR. She’s spunky and sassy, but loving and loyal. She won’t be first on the dance floor but definitely first in line for dessert. She credits herself for encouraging JR to ask Betty out and she’s excited for the girls to finally outnumber the boys in the family.

Christopher is a loyal friend, remembers everything, and only swims in international waters. Don’t let his quiet demeanor fool you; Christopher will be the one spending wedding weekend alternating between cracking jokes and shedding tears of joy.

Brianna is Betty’s friend from NYU. She enjoys corny and predictable rom coms, scrolling through Wikipedia to read synopses of films she will never watch, and is maybe a little too introverted for her own good (which probably explains the first two). She will likely have a endless wad of tissues on hand at all times at the wedding.
Jake Swanger

As the Groom's older cousin, Jake has had to teach JR a lot of tough life lessons over the years. However, a standout life lesson Jake remembers dishing out was this one solid right hook followed by just the perfect jab to then 5-year-old JR’s nose. At the time, 7-year-old Jake just had to control the menace that was JR the child. JR today (a very accomplished adult human) completely attributes all his success achieved so far to those two punches.

Elena and Betty became close while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Together they shared Friday-night Chinese takeout, explored the island of Malta, and prepared Law School applications (from which they’re both still very much recovering). Elena will be right behind Candy on her way to the dance floor, and right behind her off to go to sleep.

Ryan is JR's old college roommate and definitely the cleanest! They got close when JR threw a basketball at Ryan in a game of pick up. The rest was history with how close they are today.

Echo and Betty became friends at NYU through [gather]. She's a goofy softie and can't wait for Bettissimo + John Roger John Roger to be married, find her on the dancefloor to receive a nickname of your own!

Happy and JR becomes friends at NYU. Happy is happy, an extroverted introvert, and a decent chef. To this day, he still claims that he’s the matchmaker for JR and Betty.
Alcina Chen

Alcina met Betty on the first day of 8th grade. As an introverted extrovert, Alcina still remembers Betty’s swagger when she approached to say “Hi, you speak Chinese?” that saved Alcina’s inner screaming and awkward fidgeting standing alone holding a blue popsicle at the welcoming event. Alcina is currently studying theatre in London, and her favorite memory with Betty (and one of her favorite memory of all time) is their trip together in Europe - magical moments happened and she swears God was watching over them. Betty always gives the best advice to Alcina, whenever Alcina is in trouble. Alcina is eternally grateful for that, and all the free headshots and she’s gotten from Betty since 2016.

Chase is JR’s friend all the way from junior high and have been great friends after becoming teammates in both baseball and basketball. Chase will definitely not be seen for too long on the dance floor, but will be make many trips to where the food is.

Betty and Olivia initially started their friendship by being scared of each other in Italian class. When they studied abroad in Italy together their friendship became so strong and eventually they lived together like an old married couple: cooking dinner together and taking strolls for gelato. once JR came into Betty’s life, olivia quickly realized that JR was no longer the third wheel but she was and that JR is the only man worthy of our sweet Betty’s love

Jack is a person you like to be friends with. If not, he will try to win you over with his extremely underrated cooking skills. And if that doesn’t do the trick, buckle up, wait until he speaks to you - try and figure out where he’s from. Exotic probably isn’t the right word. I guess all I can say is ‘um what?’ On the days off you might find Jack swing dancing in his happy place, but if not perhaps you might also see him on a rock, hanging for no good reason. Cause Y not? JR and Jack don’t do anything else together besides speaking Chinese. Just ask JR about how to say “I love Jesus.’ He will tell you a story all right.
