Young Jae had been friends with Jina's brother Kyungho for years. One night, Young Jae and Jina were introduced the Korean way: over drinks. They quickly became friends and for these past seven years, have been just that, until they got #intheirfeelings, after which they quickly started dating. Because when you know this is "it," why would you wait?
Youngjae: Before we started dating, we talked for a long time about what our lives would be like if we were together. When we finally did go on that first date, it became clear that this was "it" for us. Time passed (or flew), and with the support and love from our family we decided to date with the intention of getting married the following year. Jina, however, had no idea what was to come before the end of 2018. Jina: It was Young Jae's birthday in early November, and we had decided to rent a house for the weekend to celebrate with some friends. Young Jae and I drove down together, and at one point he stopped at a scenic view and parked the car. (No, this is not a horror movie.) He got out of the car to "get something from the trunk," but disappeared out of view. All of a sudden I heard his voice. Only it was a recording of a love letter he had written me. I. was. shocked. At the end of the letter he came back with the most perfect ring and PROPOSED. I said YES! Young Jae + Jina: When we got back to the house our friends surprised us with champagne, and we all celebrated together. It was the perfect way to celebrate us and our family. As we prepare for marriage we can't help but think of all the love and support we have received from you all. We are so excited to share this incredible experience with the people we love. See you there!
