We’ve known each other since middle school and have always had classes together. We had the same friends and we would spend summers hanging out together and swimming at his house. In one of our classes we had a ‘ten year reunion’ where we all wrote where we would be in ten years and came to class acting as the people we were going to be. As a joke we decided to write that we would be married in ten years and spent the class period acting married. This was before we even started dating. Not too long after that Payton asked me to go to prom with him, but he waited till he met my dad before he asked me to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history.

Payton and I made plans with my 3 roommates to go to ECU and have a photo shoot. We all got dressed up and spent a few hours taking pictures. At one point we decided to go take photos in from of the fountain. My friend who was taking pictures had me pose in front of Payton after the picture I turned around and to my surprise he was on one knee. My other friends pretended to take pictures on their phones but they were really videoing the whole thing.
