OUR STORY We met through our mutual best friend, Lennart, when he visited New York. From the very beginning, it was clear we were different — one quiet and shy (Jairo), the other (Joycie) lively and endlessly talkative, a “yapper,” as our friends would say. What started as a simple “Hi, nice to meet you” quickly turned into, “I feel like I’ve known you for years.” From shy glances and short conversations to corny (yet cute) pickup lines and late-night-to-morning talks, our connection slowly grew into something deeper. OUR JOURNEY From late-night chats to morning laughs, from corny pickup lines to inside jokes only we understand, our story has been full of little moments that made us “us.” Whether it was exploring new places, watching movies together, trying out as many Thai food spots as we can, a little tradition we’ve made our own, or simply spending quiet evenings together. Every moment taught us more about each other. Every laugh, every silly moment, and a year of distance between us have brought us closer to this day. THE PROPOSAL We randomly talked about marriage and were originally planning to elope, but realized we didn’t want to miss celebrating with our family and close friends. So we decided to have a traditional wedding instead. There was no engagement ring — just promises and dreams. But Jairo, being the thoughtful man he is, wanted to make things official by asking. It was simple, yet perfect. Just the two of us, sharing a moment that felt truly ours. As we prepare for our wedding day, we’re filled with excitement and gratitude.
