As we eagerly await the big day, we often reminisce over the past two years (!!!) and how lucky we are to have found one another. It was June 2021, in the City of Angels. Joyce was working as the managing pharmacist at the CVS in Westwood, and Doo was a second year resident at USC, just about to graduate. On the first date at Yellow House Cafe in Koreatown, Doo was enamored by Joyce's beauty, laughter, and ability to eat an entire plate of donkatsu. Joyce enjoyed the easygoing conversations and the fact that Doo wasn't shorter than her. The relationship grew deeper as we started meeting more often, made easier by the fact that we lived a mere block away - perfect since parking in Koreatown is such a drag. We quickly found out we grew up not too far away from each other - Joyce in Walnut and Doo in neighboring Fullerton/Diamond Bar/Chino Hills/Chino (his family moved often). The hallmark of our dates was the endless conversations about our childhoods, families, friends, careers, and futures. Our dating life was quite busy. We explored LA restaurants, attended each other's churches, and won the approval of our friends. Doo proposed to Joyce on August 28, 2022, at their favorite spot in Griffith Park. We acknowledge that not everybody has the opportunity to find their life partner, so we are grateful and blessed to have found each other. We joyfully invite you to the celebration of our marriage in the presence of our family and friends. Hope to see you there!
