We recommend that you arrive at least a half hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Also, please be mindful of possible traffic from the Bay Bridge. We recommend allowing extra travel time.
For men, the answer is simple: a tuxedo, literally with a black tie. If he doesn't own one, he should rent one, complete with a cummerbund and patent leather or other formal shoes. For women, you can't go wrong with a long formal gown. And you might want to go for it, since we don't get many opportunities to wear one. Black is a no-fail dress color for a black tie wedding guest dress, but jewel tones, metallics and other dark or vibrant hues can work well too. Dramatic or upscale jewelry is appropriate. Feel free to style your hair in an elegant updo, though it's not required.
Please note we will have older guests and guests who are immunocompromised in attendance. We ask that you respect the health and safety of all guests and get a COVID-19 test immediately prior to the wedding. The Tidewater Inn encourages any guests and staff who are not vaccinated or do not feel comfortable to wear a mask.
Check in is at 4:00 p.m. We recommend you arrive at the hotel ready for the wedding in case your room is not ready early. Please call the hotel as you're on your way to see if they can accommodate an early check in.
