Our Love Story

March 1992

I moved to Montgomery, Alabama, to attend Alabama State University. This particular day, my cousin and I decided to stroll in the neighborhood. We hadn't gone far when a car drove past and immediately turned around, and stopped in front of us. It was Todd Beamon!!! I didn't know who he had turned around for, but quickly realized it was for me. He kept looking at me and smiling. My cousin whispered, "he really likes you". We began to chat. His conversation and demeanor showed me that he had a decent foundation. He asked me for my phone number, and guess what? I gave it to him!!! I had no idea this encounter would change my life forever. Todd and I began to date. We dated for 3 Β½ years. We fell deeply in love with each other. We got along very well!!! I LOVED TODD!!! Unfortunately, Todd had habits and things in his life that I did not agree with. Therefore, I decided to end the relationship due to irreconcilable differences. Y'all, I was hurting. There was so much pain!!! As a result of our breakup, Todd gave his life to God. I gave my life to God as well. One would think that we would have connected and married since we were saved. Unfortunately, because of sin, there were scars and SOOO much pain. I decided to keep it moving. I dedicated my life to God. I remember lying on the floor one night in prayer and asking God to fix my mind so that if I never married and had children. I would serve God faithfully!!! God did just that!!! I was able to go on through life and pour into my nieces and nephews, visit the sick, serve the homeless at shelters, visit the nursing homes, teach sunday school/VBS, assist with plays, obtain a master's in education, pursue a career in education, write books, obtain certificates, decorate weddings and many other things that allowed my life to be filled and fulfilled. Although my life was full, I began to sense a missing link…I wanted to be in love. I have beautiful relationships with friends, family, and coworkers, but I wanted to be in love. During the pandemic, I decorated a page in my journal with marriage stickers. I began to pray. I told God I wanted to marry someone who loved God, loved the things of God, had children (with children comes life), and who would really love me. I had no idea in a BILLION YEARS THAT TODD BEAMON WOULD TURN AROUND AND COME BACK AGAIN!!! At this point, Todd had been married for more than twenty years and had four children with his wife and had a daughter (prior to meeting me). Although, he was married, we were still cordial. I never interfered in his marriage on any level. Unfortunately, his wife passed away suddenly. My heart went out to Todd and his children. I called to offer my condolences and left it at that. A while later, Todd texted me, and the rest is history. We will be getting married on July 12, 2025. QUESTION: What is the difference between marrying Todd now and then? ANSWER: Todd has been saved consistently for almost 30 years. He is very mature and has had life experiences that has made him a masterpiece of a gentleman. SEE YOU AT THE WEDDING!!! πŸ‘°πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ’’πŸ’•πŸ’― If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's meant to be!!!πŸ•ŠοΈ
