In 2021, after a season of drifting away from God, I found myself returning to my home church — not because I had everything figured out, but because I was longing for something real again. In His mercy, God met me there. Quietly. Patiently. Lovingly. And without me even realizing it, He began to write a new chapter of my life. One Sunday, a young boy and his sister stood up to sing in worship. Their voices were full of innocence and sincerity, and something about it deeply moved me. After the service, I went up to meet them. When I asked for their names, he smiled and called me “Ate.” We both laughed — not just because of the sweet respect in the word, but because he was actually taller than me. It was such a simple moment, but I never forgot it. Looking back, I believe it was God’s gentle way of beginning something unexpected. From there, we started talking — small conversations that slowly turned into deeper moments of prayer, encouragement, and honesty. We got to know each other, not just on the surface, but at the level where God was doing real work in both of us. We are opposites in so many ways — in personality, perspective, and even how we serve. But from the beginning, there was one thing we had in common: we both loved the Lord and had a deep desire to serve Him and His people. That shared passion became the foundation for everything else. We tried to be wise. We prayed. We sought counsel. We gave each other space when we needed it. And even in seasons where we chose to step back, there was always something gently pulling our hearts together — not out of emotion, but out of trust that God was still at work, even in the waiting. Eventually, we made a decision to get married. I was 21, and he was only 19. It surprised a lot of people. Some questioned it. Others didn’t understand. And honestly, there were moments when we didn’t have all the answers either. But what we did have was peace — not the kind the world gives, but the kind that comes from obeying God, even when it doesn’t make sense to everyone else. Since then, the journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been seasons of quiet, of feeling unseen, and of being stretched. But in those hidden places, God has done His deepest work in us. He’s taught us that love is more than a feeling — it’s faithfulness. That service isn’t about being in the spotlight — it’s about showing up, day after day, with a surrendered heart. And through it all, we’ve come to understand something deeply: This isn’t a perfect love story — not even close. But because God is in it, He made it beautiful. He made it enough. Today, we stand not in perfection, but in purpose. We’re still growing. Still learning. Still leaning completely on His grace. And every step we take, every prayer we pray, every decision we make — it’s all for Him. Everything we are is because of Jesus. And everything we do, we want it to be for Jesus.
