The Groom: Edgar Rubio is proudly from Aldama Tamaulipas, Mexico. Currently he’s living in Greenville, SC. He is deeply passionate of the music ministry. He currently serves as a drummer in his local church. Aside from drumming, Fútbol is a HUGE interest of Edgar (fan by heart of FCB!!!), loves a street style/classy style in fashion, and he’s a great singer (he’s just too shy to do it publicly!). The Bride: Jessica Joya, was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. Currently lives in Rockville, Maryland. Serves in her local church in the worship ministry. She has tremendous passion for singing and photography. She loves modest fashion, small old towns and exploring for cute cafés!

Edgar and Jessica first laid eyes on each other at a youth event. For a split moment, she saw him on the very first day. By the second day, he laid eyes on her and the wondering grew. They didn’t formally meet because it was nerve wrecking of course!!! Until… Their dear friend, Vanessa, took the initiative to bring a love match together once the youth event concluded. So on the last day, when he headed back to Greenville, and she, to Maryland. Jessica received a message and from there on, a sparkle turned on. After three months of getting to know each other, quickly falling in love despite of all the miles in between, they became an official couple. And boy!! As you can see, it was quite the love match indeed.

Two years later, madly in love, Edgar was in for some planning! Jessica and her family traveled to spend christmas 2021 with the Rubio family in SC. Overjoyed already, to spend christmas together, little did she know it would be the last of those! The night before christmas, Edgar had a dinner reservation, the usual, but first they needed to make a “quick stop” at the Rubio-Elias house. Jessica, walking in a couple of minutes after Edgar, found herself standing in the dreamiest fairytale. And there waited Edgar, to get down on one knee and pop the question that would change their lives, “Will you Marry me?”. In awe, taking it all in, standing in front of her future Husband, she said “YES!!”. P.S. Huge shout out to everyone who helped planning and coordinating everything!! (Which was literally everyone!)
