Yes. We have decided to postpone our wedding. It is now scheduled for September 12, 2020. We will update you if the circumstances change and are looking forward to celebrating together.
We will do everything we can to make sure this is a safe and fun event. We will follow local, state, and national guidelines. In addition to any guidelines, we will do the following: We require that everyone attending wears a mask when they are inside and outside if they are within 6 feet of anyone they didn't arrive with. The mask can be removed to eat or drink. Guests will ride the chairlift to the ceremony site with people they arrived with. Once at the ceremony site, guests will stand/sit 6 feet apart from anyone they didn't arrive with. Dinner will be served at tables spaced 6 feet apart and guests will be seated with people they arrived with. Due to state regulations as of June 2020, no more than 50 people can attend. The venue has a 180-person capacity. We are anticipating far fewer than 50 people attending. We are not planning on having any dancing after dinner to maintain a safe environment.
Once you receive your invitation, please RSVP by August 1, 2020. If you are unsure, please feel free to let us know your plans at joy.shahen.wedding [at] gmail.com!

The weather in September in Colorado can be unpredictable, particularly in the mountains. On average, days will be in the high 70s and nights in the 40s. However, it could rain or even snow. Check the forecast beforehand and be prepared.
Yes. You really, really should. If you are coming from sea level or outside of Colorado, water will be your best friend and will help alleviate issues adjusting to altitude. Colorado is also much drier than the coasts.
Have you met Shahen? Of course this wedding will involve skiing! Guests will take a 10-minute ride up on a ski lift to the ceremony site. There, you will enjoy amazing views of the San Juans, including the Needles and Engineer Mountain. After the ceremony, you will take the lift back down to the base of the resort for lawn games, cocktails, and dinner.
