Sola's Perspective Being new to America, I found it challenging to meet people organically while pursuing my graduate studies and working. During a church life group meeting, I shared my reservations, and the group prayed for me. Feeling led by God, I joined a small Christian dating app and connected with Joy. I enjoyed talking and getting to know her, but when she didn't respond to my messages for a couple of days, I feared she had ghosted me. A few days later, she reached back out and apologized for the lack of communication as she was busy with her sister's wedding that weekend. I asked how the wedding went and requested she share a few pictures from the day, but the platform didn't allow for that, so we exchanged numbers. When she later sent a few pictures and I saw her in Nigerian attire, I was pleasantly surprised to learn she was Nigerian, and I was captivated by her beauty . That day, we spoke on Facetime for hours, and our connection grew stronger. I was excited to learn we had so much in common, including our Nigerian heritage, Christian faith, love for family and shared life goals. A few weeks later, everything fell into place and we finally met in person. I didn't want to waste any more time so I asked her to be my girlfriend, and two years later, my wife. I'm overjoyed to have found my forever partner, and I know our relationship is built on a solid foundation in Christ. This is a kingdom-centered union, and I feel truly blessed to have such an amazing woman in my corner.
