We love riding the Capital Wheel at sunset, and the kids enjoy playing in the sand, climbing the Gulliver’s Travels sculpture, and posing with statues of iconic Americans. Couples can relax with waterfront dining or a spa visit, while families enjoy the carousel, arcade, and lively boardwalk atmosphere.

MGM is like a little slice of Vegas near DC! Our family loves the diverse food court, stunning mall (great for photos and shopping), and the lively atmosphere. Enjoy upscale dining, spa time, or try your luck at the casino. It’s perfect for a date night or group hangout — and just steps away from National Harbor fun.
Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
Even if you’re not staying overnight, the Gaylord is worth a visit! Our family has spent Christmas here — we’ve walked through the breathtaking ice sculptures, watched the holiday shows, and shared delicious meals together. The indoor atrium is stunning year-round, and the seasonal attractions (like springtime floral displays) are always a treat. Couples can relax at the spa or enjoy a riverside dinner, while families with kids will love the immersive experiences and beautiful views of the Potomac River.
