Zoey lives up to the meaning of her name: she is full of life, overflowing with a curiosity to know and understand. I can't wait to become Zoey's bonus mom, nor can I wait for the family God is establishing with the three of us.

Resilient, bold, empathetic, and the apple of my eye, I can barely remember life before Zoey, but I'm confident it wasn't as colorful, loud, and beautiful. There is nothing I'm more excited to share with Joy than parenting of this sweet girl as she continues to grab hold of the future God has for her.

I don't remember a time when Amanda wasn't a part of my life. We shared a room growing up and made so many fantastic sister memories. Amanda's honesty, desire for what's right, and sensitive compassion for the feelings of others are things I especially treasure about her.

Our ten years of memories are filled with just as many discussions about the modern Church as they are arguments about which Star Wars film is the best one.

I am so thankful for the years of memories we were able to make, especially when we were roommates after college.

Rachael and I laugh about the way that we met to this day. God knew just what He was doing when he brought us both from Iowa to Dallas Theological Seminary. Over the last few years, we have shared some of life's biggest celebrations and hardest challenges. Strong and loyal, Rachael is among my fiercest advocates.

A man of few words, but all of them insightful or hilarious, Shelby is a model of strength through humility. Our friendship started on a work phone call and it was clear even from that first conversation that we'd have a long friendship ahead of us. I'm happy to say that we have, due in no small part to who Shelby is as a brother in Christ.

Carla and I met right as I was beginning my career as a nurse. God put her in my life at just the right time to encourage me with a friend that has a deep faith walk, an abiding thirst for growth and knowledge, and a passion to settle for giving nothing but her very best. Among all my friends, few have embodied "neighbor" like Jeff Harmon. We lived in the same zip code for years, our offices are less than 50 feet apart, and, most indicative of all, Jeff has shown up like few have or would. Jeff consistently communicates hope and walks with his "neighbors" towards it when they can't get there themselves.
