Bridge to Berkeley

Joy and Kent met in 2013 and became friends instantly. Off and on for about a year, their friendship blossomed into much more than they expected. Kent took the first step in professing his love for Joy by making things official April 4th, 2014. After two years of dating long-distance, it was clear that no amount of space could separate the pair. Kenton proposed to Joy on the Brooklyn Bridge solidifying their connection. Over the years, they’ve bonded over everything. Like literally, everything. Some of their favorites include, jazz music, art museums, documentaries and anything highlighting blackness. The two are a reflection of one another, you hardly ever see one without the other. As black culture enthusiasts, it only made sense that they would chose June 19th, the African-American Independence Day, Juneteenth, to mark their union as husband and wife.
