Jason and I met on the Jewish dating app JSwipe after years of swiping to no avail. Our initial conversations flowed seamlessly, so against our better judgement, we went out on our first date (all the while being fully aware that he was moving 5 hours away in a matter of days). We hit it off, shut the restaurant down, and realized we had a bit of a conundrum on our hands. Neither of us had ever meshed with someone so effortlessly, and it seemed silly to let distance dictate whether we gave our budding relationship a fair start. A remote position worked in our favor and thanks to the flexibility that affords, I began the back and forth sojourn between Massachusetts and New Jersey. Fast forward 10 months when I find the most beautiful family heirloom diamond ring attached to Finley’s harness and Jase down on one knee (that is, after I almost foiled the whole plan by missing the ring and chucking the harness across the couch)! It all seemed so surreal, because this chapter in lives certainly wasn't promised. We’ve both been through so much in our young lives due to serious health issues, so it’s particularly special that we made it to this day, and have the opportunity to celebrate our love with those we hold most dear.
