We first crossed paths during Launch Week—well, JJ noticed Joy, but Joy didn’t really notice him (a fact he likes to tease her about). Even so, we both knew who the other was, not realizing how important that small familiarity would become. Everything changed on the first day of school. At 2:00 p.m. sharp in Psychology of Healthy Relationships, Joy sat in her usual front-row seat—prepared, early, and focused. JJ walked in right on time, scanning the room for a place to sit. The very last open seat in the entire classroom just happened to be the one right beside her. So he sat down. After class, a small conversation grew into a real connection. Music tied our hearts together first. One conversation became a walk, which became a visit to a practice room… and the moment JJ picked up his violin, Joy was done for. It was game over in the sweetest way. But our story only grew stronger from there. Over the years, we’ve grown together by continually learning each other’s rhythms, passions, strengths, and quirks. Joy taught JJ to love coffee (a true miracle), and JJ became Joy’s steady anchor through her health struggles. Most importantly, Jesus is the foundation our relationship is built upon. We have learned to support each other intentionally—not just in the easy moments, but in the ones that require faith, patience, and choice. What started as a classroom coincidence has become a partnership in worship and in life. We’ve learned to serve side by side, love wholeheartedly, and celebrate the small, ordinary moments that make up a shared life. Now, we’re stepping into our next chapter—grateful, expectant, and so excited to celebrate this day with the people who have walked with us along the way. 💍✨
