We met each other in the most modern way: through the dating app, Bumble! If not for the app, we likely would not have met. Eric was working as a journalist at a daily newspaper just outside of Seattle and Joy was working 80 hour weeks in her OB/GYN medical residency in the heart of the city. We spoke for less than 24 hours before realizing we had something good on our hands and wanted to meet. We sat down to coffee on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Mulkiteo, just north of Seattle. Before we parted, we already made plans for a Tuesday night dinner date, both of us sure we wanted to see each other again.
