They grew close in college through random trips around Poughkeepsie, working together as tour guides at Marist, and dealing with Elio. Joe met Kiara when he and Jowel were both dropping off their significant others at the LIRR.

When Jowel tore his Achilles, Niles was there through recovery—despite Jowel not always following directions. Loyal, dependable, and always bringing the laughs (and the clippers), Niles has been a constant in Jowel’s life.

Their friendship grew through board game betrayals and group chat nonsense, eventually leading to Atiba playing matchmaker by introducing Jowel to Kiara during a Memorial Day trip. Proudly responsible for this love story, Atiba will also be officiating the ceremony.
