We met in the engineering program in high school and ended up in the same classes for two years straight. Who knew that a year and a half of just helping each other with answers would turn into what it is now - almost a decade later! What started as sharing assignments turned into sharing phone numbers and talking constantly. Once Kayla got her driver’s permit, Jovan started asking for rides home… which quickly became a daily ride to and from school together.

After coming back from Mexico, our next adventure was Yosemite - a place Kayla had been wanting to see in person after years of staring at her MacBook wallpapers. At first, we thought it would just be another trip… but then came the little hints: her mom dropped a comment, Jovan teased, “You’ll see this weekend,” and Thaís insisted Kayla get her nails done. By then, Kayla had her suspicions. Sure enough, Jovan popped the question, making it a memorable trip and the start of our next chapter!
