We met in our high school P.E class. Kris saw me in the bleachers, on my phone, listening to music. He would often sit next to me and not say anything, just keep me company. Sometimes I would say, "Hey," and if he needed anything, he would say no. Then one day I wanted a bag of chips at lunch, and I asked him for ten cents to make a dollar, and he gave me a dollar. I said thanks. We would always speak in gym class, but then we started playing ping-pong together. I sucked at it, but I enjoyed playing with him. At the end of our 9th grade school year, he asked me to be his girlfriend NEXT YEAR? I said what? lol no. Then we didn't talk all summer. When we arrived back at school,10th grade year, I saw Kris after a school pep rally and was so excited to see him that I gave him a hug, and we talked while I waited for the bus. Meanwhile, Kris was a car rider, so he wasn't supposed to be in the bus lane. Every day, he came anyway, and we talked. Then one day, he mentioned he got a new phone and asked if I could put my number in it. I did, and we started to text. Then we started to call them FaceTime. We would stay up all night texting and talking. He would watch me do my makeup and listen to me rant about other guys, and more. We were bestfriends. Until my mom asked me, "What would you do if Kris dated another girl?" I said he wouldn't do that. That's when I noticed I liked him more than as my best friend. He asked me to be his valentine, and I said yes. On Valentine's Day, 2/14/2018, I told him I loved him and that he is out of the friend zone, and he was so excited that he jumped up and asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I said yes. Throughout the rest of high school, we had our ups and downs, but we always found our way back to each other. We graduated from high school and went off to college together, and our relationship was tested. But then again, we made our way back to each other, being stronger than before. Then, on a random Tuesday night, March 4th, 2025, I was cramping and needed ice cream and comfort, so I invited Kris over to stay the night. He called me and asked me to come outside, and I'm like, " Babe, why are you calling me outside to see the rain ? He said no, and he grabbed my hands and told me how much he loved and cared for me. I still didnt think anything of it. I was in my pjs, and he always tells me how much he appreciates me, but then he gets on one knee. I said, "You're not doing this right now," and he said, "Yes, I am." He then asked me to marry him. I said yes and immediately called my mom, my sister Deedra, and my aunt Tata, and Facetimed them, showing him on one knee. They were all in shock, and so was I. Now we're falling more and more in love every day. We've traveled, loved, grown, comforted, grieved, laughed, and prayed together. We just know that we wouldnt want to share this life with anyone else. Over the many years, God has truly blessed our love and our story. We're so excited to finally enter the next stage of our lives as not Eboni and Kris, but as the Jenkinses.
