Journey's Version: In the spring of 2021, Gianni and I met at a mutual friend's apartment at the University of Alabama - Roll Tide! Gianni (a 6'5 incredibly handsome hockey player that definitely caught my eye) stumbled in with an "injury" and needed assistance from a "nurse". You could say it was love at first sight - on his end. After several months of playing hard to get, I finally realized what a catch he was and told him I had a crush. I spent the next two years pretending I was a "Real Housewife" of the Alabama Hockey team. We both graduated from UA in 2023 and moved to Kansas City together, where we both began our careers. We bought a house and got engaged the summer of 2025. We are so excited to start this next chapter of life as newlyweds with our children (cats) Daffodil and Celtic. Gianni's Version: Journey and I met through mutual friends while we were in college. She had (and still has) an upbeat, kind, magnetic energy about her. I was drawn to that right away. We started off as friends, but I was determined to win her over. After a few months of us being friends had passed, the hockey season started back up, and she came to our home opener. Knowing she was in attendance, I did everything I could to impress, and ended up playing one of the best games I’ve ever had. Say what you want, but that night, a lot changed. From that day forward we were like two peas in a pod. We’ve experienced a lot together, grown together, and I’m nothing but excited for what’s yet to come on our forever adventure.
