We’re getting married!

Josue had just gotten home from his mission and enrolled for school at UVU. Having to make a switch in schedule to accommodate work, he found himself in American heritage, which is where Ashley was already enrolled. Ashley would come to class super dripped out and stylish, which caught his attention. They both sat near the front and would chat whenever the teacher prompted group discussion. In hindsight, we can see that it was the spirit that prompted Josue to put together a big Pickleball tournament and invite everyone he could to go. Without knowing, Ashley was invited to one of her all-time favorite activities which led to the start of a marvelous journey between the two.

Josué proposed to Ashley around 6 PM in Waikiki, Hawaii, after a day where subtle clues and quiet behavior from friends hinted at the secret plan. The day was filled with casual activities like visiting football stadiums and grocery shopping, but Ashley sensed something was up due to her friends' actions and being told to wear her nicest outfit. On the beach near sunset, Josué pulled Ashley away for a private, profound talk where they both affirmed their readiness to commit to marriage, taking the "next step" with "both feet." As they walked back, Josué showed Ashley a highly emotional video featuring loving messages from dozens of close family and friends, including both of their parents, essentially congratulating her on the engagement before it officially happened. They returned to a spot on the sand marked by a heart and a flower. The video concluded with a message from Josué, who then instructed her to turn around. He was down on one knee with a "beautiful and perfect" ring and proposed, to which she immediately said YES!!
