We met through mutual friends and car meets. Matt wore this baby blue shirt that said "Can we kick it" and that shirt opened the door for many conversations that night. We would hangout many times after between going to parties, Denny's, and the movie theater I worked at. As we spent more time together we grew to like one another and Matt asked me to be his girlfriend on 9/16/2008. I said yes and then within a year of dating we moved in together and have been driving each other crazy since!
We planned to go to Universal Studios with some of my co workers for the day. When we showed up early that morning Matt started saying he didn't feel good. We went to Starbucks thinking maybe he just needed something to eat and drink but it did not change his mood. We walked around and went on the Harry Potter ride and he nearly threw up! He took it easy and didn't go on the next few rides. When it came time to eat lunch he was feeling so light headed he had to go to the infirmary, this is where he spent the remaining time while at Universal. I went on a few rides with my co worker while checking on him but also so very disappointed because we had planned this trip for awhile and it was our first one with just us adults in a long time. We left Universal Studios and headed to my god parents house where our daughters were. On the way there Matt asked me to see if our family would like to go out for dinner. I didn't think anything of it and was already upset I spent the day without him at Universal, so I said no we can just order in food. When we got to the house our family asked how Universal Studios was and I was telling them how awful it went! Matt just kept pacing and walking outside. Next thing you know my mom, god daughters, and wifey showed up to my god parents house. I just thought oh hey maybe he called them to make up for him not hanging out with me and he knows I love when we spend time with family. Next thing you know Matt was on my left side telling me he was sorry about how today went and that he knew my birthday was in a few days and he couldn't think of a better time or people to share this with... Uh,, okay?... he gets on one knee and I start looking at everyone in shock asking if this was real! Nobody knew, Matt kept this all to himself and had so much anxiety build that is why he ended up in the infirmary at Universal. After verifying this was really happening I finally said YES! It started out rough but ended great! March 16th, 2019 was memorable!
