How we met

First comes Athens, then comes marriage

As told by Josie: We met during an interview process for Arch Society at UGA. Wyatt was a grade older than me and was assigned as my "mentor." Part of his duties were to listen to a practice tour I gave of campus. I was already a tour guide on campus, and it turns out, I knew a lot more about campus than Wyatt did. Time passed and we interacted every so often, and I always remembered how he told me that he ranked me first of all the interviewees (he promises this wasn't biased). Eventually I had graduated and was living in Austin, when I received a DM from Wyatt asking how I was (classic slide into the dms). The conversation continued until he asked me: "Random question, but do you like Broadway shows?" I had no idea where he was going with this message and had never seen a broadway show, which I tried to communicate in a nonchalant way. He responded by inviting me to come to NY with him + our friends Carter and Claire (shoutout). I was unsure, so I called my mom to ask what I should do. She wasn't entirely sure either. I ended up saying yes and had no idea I was going to NYC for the first time with my future husband. The rest, as they say, is history. As told by Wyatt: Apparently we met inside the Chapel in Athens during the Arch info session. I don't remember that, whoops... What I do remember is Josie walking into the interview. She was gorgeous, confident, and eager. Josie absolutely crushed the interview and was my number 1 pick easily. Fast forward post college and I found myself asking (yes I was in the DMs) Josie to come to NYC, as a friend of course, with Carter, Claire, and myself to watch a few broadway shows. I wasn't sure she would say yes, but nonetheless I did not relent. Eventually, "as a friend" was accpeted. However, ruthless in my pursuit, "as a friend" became decidedly out of the question. Planes became my favorite place, one flight turned to ten, and ten to twenty, and well for now...that's all she wrote folks!
