How We First Met

Elijah and I met on March 19th of this year. It was actually quite a surprise meeting Elijah because it was so unexpected. We met through my roommate, Brandi, who knew Elijah before I did. The week before we met I was actually visiting my best friend, Nikki, in Colorado to celebrate her son’s first birthday. So, it was on March 19th that I was just coming back home, exhausted, hair wet from the shower I took at my parents’ house that morning, and my pjs still on, that we first saw each other. Elijah had stayed that night at my house with Brandi and a couple of his buddies. Brandi neglected to fill me in on that, so I had no idea anyone would even be home when I got there. I was sitting on the living room couch with Brandi talking about our weeks when he walked in. I was starstruck from the moment I saw him. And even though I was looking rough, Elijah will tell you the same thing. I can honestly say that I think I’ve loved him since the first time I saw him. All he said to me when he saw me was, “Hey, I’m Elijah.” I don’t even think I said hello back because I was so stricken. And since then we’ve pretty much been attached at the hip. We both have made each other better in ways no one could understand. We build each other up and support each other. and we’ve built our relationship on love, trust, and respect. Elijah has made me feel not only beautiful on the outside, but mostly beautiful on the inside because not a day goes by that he doesn’t complement who I am. Spending the rest of my life with him will be my ultimate blessing.
