Andre and Josie met each other in second year, while they were both studying at Stellenbosch. After a series of blind-date house dances, coffee dates, ice cream chats and attempted (and failed) study sessions in the library, a girl from Durban and a Bellville boy fell in love. Andre proposed to Josie with the sun setting behind him, standing in a field scattered with rose petals (yes it was real life and not a fairytale). He first sang a song to her, then read her a poem with the final lines of 'My engel, ek is so lief vir jou. Joslyn Ge Greveling, sal jy met my trou?' Andre also surprised Josie with photographers hiding in the bushes, prayed over her, and had organized both families to celebrate the moment with them. It was the best day of Josie's life, and the easiest yes she has ever said! Our season of being engaged has been one filled with lots of excitement, happiness, and also so much uncertainty. Through it all, we have clung to the Lord's promises to us. We know that He is good and that He has always been faithful to us. We can't wait to commit our lives to one another before you and before God. He is the reason for this relationship, this covenant, and our lives together.
