In addition to a few Chirstian traditions that will be observed during our wedding ceremony, we invite our guests to participate in the Dollar Dance (Baile del Dólar) and La Víbora de la Mar. Dollar Dance or Baile del Dólar This is a dance where guests will have an opportunity to dance with the bride and groom and guests will pin dollar bills to the couple. We encourage our guests to bring dollar bills for when it is time to dance with the bride and groom. All dollar amounts welcome ;) ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100) La Víbora de la Mar Is a dance game that is deeply rooted in Mexican heritage and is supposed to symbolize the ups and downs the couple will face in life. The couple stands on chairs opposite each other, holding a bridge-like cloth or veil high over their heads. This forms a symbolic sea where the "víbora" or "snake" (i.e., the wedding guests) will navigate. The game starts with guests lining up, holding hands to form a long chain. The line of guests, or the 'snake,' then weaves under and over the cloth bridge in a coordinated movement, mimicking the motion of a sea serpent in the water. This dance's dynamic nature creates an atmosphere of enthusiasm and fun, adding to the joyful spirit of the occasion!
