FAQs

Question

How do guests participate in a Catholic Mass?

Answer

Our Nuptial Mass will be celebrated as a Solemn High Mass, in Latin, according to the traditional Roman rite. Mass booklets with translations of the various readings and prayers will be provided at the Cathedral so that the order of events is easy to follow. We hope that all guests will feel comfortable, will appreciate the beauty and reverence of the ceremony, and will join the priest in asking God for his blessing upon our union. We are so thankful for all the prayers that will be offered by our friends and family on this day!

Question

How long will the ceremony last?

Answer

The mass will be about an hour and a half.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Anyone is welcome to attend the Mass. However, due to limited seating at the reception, we are only able to accommodate guests listed on your invitation.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal—black tie optional. During the Mass, we kindly ask that guests dress modestly. For women, this includes dresses that cover the shoulders and back.

Question

Can I take photos during the Mass?

Answer

We ask that you refrain from taking photos or using phones during the Mass so we can all fully embrace the prayerful atmosphere of the ceremony.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 12 p.m. We kindly ask that you arrive by 11:45 a.m. to allow yourself plenty of time to find your seat comfortably.
