Josiah and I first met working the night shift at UPS and going to school at University of Louisville in early 2016. We were both too shy to hit it off immediately, but through the help of a persistent mutual friend, we ended up becoming close friends. We bonded over complaining about work, Game of Thrones, books, and memes. We always had fun together, whether we were hiking at Red River Gorge or eating at Waffle House at 4am. By the fall, I had such a crush on Josiah that I couldn't keep it to myself. I had to tell him how I felt right before he went on a camping trip with no service for the whole weekend. We went on our first date two days later even though Josiah had a stomach bug (which he kept secret from me). We've been inseparable ever since.
On our third anniversary, Josiah took me to breakfast at First Watch and told me he had a surprise date planned. We drove out to Frankfort, just as we had on the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We walked along the river and reflected on the last three years together. We both got sentimental about how sweet the early days were and how far we'd come together. We wandered into the beautiful gardens in the backyard of historic Liberty Hall. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was the easiest decision I've ever made.
