We're Getting Married!

We met years ago back in 2016-ish when he worked for my dad. However, Dad wasn't just his employer; he LOVED Josh!! I heard his name so many times, it was crazy. Josh and I would run into each other randomly, but there really was nothing to it. It wasn't until around 2018 when he snapchatted me for the first time, and it lasted a solid week... haha!! This wasn't because we weren't interested in one another. It was because younger/immature Skyler was grounded and got my phone taken away. Few years went on, and still nothing came of me and Josh.. However, around the beginning of 2023, we actually started showing genuine interest in one another. I worked for my dad at the time, and Josh would come to my work almost every day, where he would bring a few of us lunch and just sit beside me and talk for hours when the days were slow. One of my coworkers at the time kept on saying, "Skyler, he really likes you." I would deny it. I would say, "No, there's no way... He just is coming here because he's bored."  Well later I realized my coworker was right. He did like me, and I liked him!! However, this is no exaggeration... it took me a month to give him my phone number. He kept writing me notes for at least a month asking for my number, flirting, and asking if I was going to go with him to a concert. Eventually I caved, and I said, "Yes, what kind of person would I be if I turned down my favorite artist's concert?" Plus, his family, to whom I have known for many years, was also there, so... I didn't take it quite as a date. However, early in the evening I realized this was some type of date. It was such a fun night, and I couldn't believe I was with Joshua Knowlton (to whom my parents haven't stopped talking about for years). Later, I found out it was only the beginning between us. We went on several family trips, had many dinner dates, had fun days on the river, had lots of chill days laying low, and much more. Then we went on another Bahamas trip with our family. Mind you, I never had any idea Josh was going to propose on that trip. He would always randomly say that he wasn't getting engaged until his house was done. Well, the house took way longer to get up than expected. It wasn't even done for months after we got back. But the core memory was priceless!! We were taking couple photos one evening on the beach before our dinner reservations and I still didn't catch on..That's when Josh grabbed my hands and said "We actually aren't going to eat at Abaco Inn tonight". My words back were "Wait, what do you mean" (in a stressed voice because a girl has to eat) .Then I noticed he was getting emotional and something big was happening. So talk about being surprised!! And It was one of the best days of both of our lives!!!  Moral of the story: God's timing worked out perfectly. We can't wait for forever together!!
