Josh and Tori took a weekend trip to Ottawa right around Josh’s Birthday! The day started off with hiking at starve rock! They both had never been and were excited to see all the nature and take pictures! Then they went into town on the way to the hotel to get lunch and explored a small town outside of Ottawa. They ate at little small cafe that of course had gluten free options for Tori. Then it was time to check into the hotel in town and get settled in for the night. After taking a power nap, they both started getting ready for the dinner reservation josh made at the beach house. Now it was time for dinner, so they headed into the downtown Ottawa area, parked their car and walked to where dinner would be. The restaurant was pretty slow so they took their time eating dinner. Once diner was complete, Tori and Josh started exploring downtown Ottawa. They visited some shops and ended up running into some live music in the park. They spent several hours listening to music and enjoying the beautiful evening. Then they decided to get some ice cream. So they started walking to the ice cream shoot which was a little ways away. Don’t worry they had dairy free options for tori. Then the walking began! They walked all over downtown Ottawa after they got ice cream. They went and found a nice stop by the water, explored the area where a new YMCA was built. They walked and walked and walked. Finally Josh told Tori he wanted to take her to this spot he saw when researching for the trip. He said it was just up the street some ways. As they turned onto a new street there was a beautiful open park area with string lights. This was right around sunset. Then Tori spotted the Photographer. And she new…… Once we got to the middle of the park, Josh got down on one knee and asked Tori to marry him. The ring fit perfectly! Tori couldn’t believe it! Then the photographer came out from hiding and took some beautiful photos of them newly engaged! . After they finished up they walked to a local bar, where they shared a drink, in honor of Josh’s late Grandfather. Then they walked back to the car and took some selfies and Tori was smiling from ear to ear! The surprises weren’t over…. Little did Tori know…. That Josh had planned a surprise engagement party back at their house with all their friends and family. The next day they packed up to go home, check out of the hotel and stop at a few places before they left. Tori was so excited to call and tell all her family and friends, but Josh told her to wait until they were home, so she did. As they pulled up to their street, Tori saw all the cars parked out front of the house. Tori realized that they party was at THERE house! She was in shock! Sharon, Mother of the groom and Joette, Mother of the Bride along with Josh’s cousin Sierra threw an amazing party! The whole house was decorated and everyone they love was there ready to greet the newly engaged couple! It was truly the best weekend. Josh did the best job planning an amazing engagement and party for his now soon to be wife!
